Our pool & confined water training sessions are typically run at various Public Swimming Pool locations by arrangement. Our primary training pool is:

Capernwray Dive Centre

📍 Location: Over Kellet, Lancashire

Capernwray is our go-to site for beginner and intermediate diver training. Just over an hour from Manchester, this former limestone quarry offers reliable visibility, usually between 6 to 15 metres, and features a supportive environment with full facilities, perfect for divers who are just starting out.

Why we use it:

  • Primary site for our Open Water Diver Courses

  • Home base for Drysuit Diving Training

  • Ideal for SDI, TDI, and RAID certification dives

Features:

  • Submerged attractions like helicopters, planes, and gnome gardens.

  • On-site café with hot meals and heated indoor space.

  • Equipment hire and gas fills including air, nitrox, and trimix.

Coniston Water

📍 Location: South Lakes, Cumbria

Coniston Water is one of our preferred intermediate training locations, offering a taste of natural, open water diving. While not used for beginner sessions, it’s perfect for newly certified divers looking to build confidence and explore new challenges.

Why we use it:

  • Great for navigation, buoyancy, and equipment configuration practice.

  • Entry-level site for TDI certification preparation.

Conditions:

  • Freshwater lake with gradually sloping entry points.

  • Requires adequate exposure protection year-round.

Stoney cove

📍 Location: Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire

Stoney Cove is an alternative inland site for intermediate diver training. based in rural Leicestershire, this former granite quarry offers reliable visibility above 20m, usually between 6 to 10 metres, and features a multitude of underwater attractions as well as a maximum depth of 35 metres

Why we use it:

  • Primary site for our Open Water Diver Courses

  • Drysuit Hire Available

  • Ideal for SDI, TDI, and RAID certification dives

Features:

  • Submerged attractions like helicopters, planes, pirate trail

  • On-site restaurant with hot meals and heated indoor space.

  • Equipment hire and gas fills including air, nitrox, and trimix.

  • Strong ties and proximity to MDC

Wast Water

📍 Location: Western Lake District

Wast Water is England’s deepest lake, plunging to an incredible 75 metres. Due to its remote location, limited surface access, and technical depth, it's used exclusively for the final phases of advanced technical training.

Why we use it:

Reserved for high-level TDI and RAID certification dives.

Ideal for trimix training, decompression procedures, and deep diving drills.

Important: Not suitable for beginner or intermediate divers. This site is only used for the latter stages of technical courses due to its complexity and isolation.
